Wolf's Rage Cover Reveal

Wolf's Rage Cover

Wolf's Rage: Book 7.5 in the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Series Cover Reveal

After Wolf's Enemy, I fully intended to write Wolf's Quest, which is Snarl's search for his kidnapped mate, Freya. However, my characters did not cooperate.

Flora Garrett and Dottie Paddock decided that their wedding was more important than a footnote. It was being planned at the end of Wolf's Queen. Wolf's Enemy opened the morning after the wedding. Flora and Dottie staged a sit-in on my keyboard.

Until I wrote their wedding story, they refused to leave me alone to work on Snarl's search for his missing mate.

So, Wolf's Rage, Book 7.5, came about. The happenings in this book occur in the two weeks between the end of book 7 (Wolf's Queen) and the beginning of book 8 (Wolf's Enemy). The women are happily in the act of preparing for the wedding, purchasing gowns, and planning decorations when they come across a woman (Violet) being forced into an SUV by two men. When they rescue her, the fun begins.

Now, not only is there a wedding to prepare for, there is Violet's family to save from a deranged kidnapper.

I have just over 25,000 words written, and write more every day, so the book should be done soon.

At least that's my hope. I really, really want to get back to Snarl's search. And he's a bit impatient, too.

Lynn Nodima: Back on Track

I'm Back on Track

This past month has been rough. In addition to finalizing work on an editing contract, the flu, or something very like it, has made the rounds throughout the house.

Now, with nothing left but a residual cough, everyone is getting better.

This week, I have hit the 29,000-word mark in my WIP book, Wolf's Reign. I still have the major conflict to write, but it's almost done. I will get this done as quickly as I can.

New Banner

I created a new banner image for this blog. It felt too much to have all the books in my series staring at visitors the first time they visited the blog. Since this is my writer's blog, rather than just a series blog, I changed the banner to reflect my name instead of book covers. I would love some feedback. Is it better? Worse? Added pages provide permanent access to more information about my books and short stories.

Off to work!

Wolf's Trust Update: Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Book 5

Wolf's Trust: Book 5 in the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Series

Wolf's Trust Update

This book as been a challenge. In a previous post, I mentioned that this is the first book I have written out of sequence. It has also been the most difficult to write to get everything that needed to happen done. Even so, I completed the first draft of the book last week.

Since then, I have been slowly working through spelling, grammar, and structure edits.

There are still three edits to complete, but they will be complete in time to publish the book this week. My target date is Wednesday, October 4th. I will post to let you know when it is available.

The cover has been completed. The blurb is below. Comments are always welcome!

Wolf's Trust

Evil must be contained. Compromised Huntsmen must die . . .

The Triumvirate, Commanders of the Black Forest Huntsmen, teach their hunters that werewolves are evil, human-eating animals.

When a Huntsman is captured by werewolves, the Triumvirate sends Zoe to kill the compromised hunter and destroy the pack.

But her efforts result in a traumatic head injury. Daryll, an Enforcer for the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack ensures Zoe gets medical treatment. Why would the evil were help her?

Believing Zoe, too, is compromised, a Huntsman attacks her in the emergency room. Daryll saves her, and Zoe's confusion grows.

Then Zoe learns the Triumvirate aren't the saviors of humankind she believes them to be. Will she follow her heart to help Daryll and the pack in their efforts to stop the Triumvirate?

Or will she blindly follow orders to destroy the pack?

Wolf's Huntsman, Newest Book Started

Wolf's Huntsman #4 in the Texas River Wolf Pack Series.

I have been working on this book since Wolf's Mission published. At this point, I have seven chapters and over 9,000 words written.

In Wolf's Mission, Nate and Eli bring one of the Huntsmen back with them. After helping them retrieve a kidnapped werewolf, his life is forfeit.

But what happens when a Huntsman, raised by a family of Huntsmen, suddenly finds himself surrounded by the very werewolves he has been trained all his life to fear, hunt, and kill?

The preliminary cover selected for this book is at left.

Read the first three chapters!

Have you read the previous books in the series?

Wolf's Mission Update: Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Book 3

Wolf's Mission Update

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:

Evening July 13: I finished the first draft today! After I reread for accuracy, spelling, and grammar, it goes to my beta reader and editor for the first run through tomorrow. I will have this published on or before August 1!

I finished chapter 27 last night. According to the minimal outline I have, I still need to write two chapters before calling the first draft complete.

This series is still so much fun to write. I love being a discovery writer and learning more about the characters and their lives as I go. I know some writers prefer to have a fully fleshed outline before writing, and I applaud them. Wish I could write that way. But, as even this book shows, my characters decide to jump in and tell their stories the way they want them told, regardless what I think.

In Wolf's Claim, for instance, there is a walk-on character. I thought she and her family were just to show how bad another character was and make him less sympathetic to the reader. Nope. She was only mentioned in Wolf's Claim. In Wolf's Mission, there is a complete chapter devoted to her and the change in dynamic that her presence brings to the pack.

The closer I get to finishing this part of the story, the more I look forward to writing the next segment.

Back to work.
