New Publications

I didn't realize how many stories and books I had on my computer that just needed a tweak or a last edit to be ready to publish. Since the beginning of November, I have been working steadily to finish them and getting them uploaded to Amazon. I still have more to finish, but the books/stories I've published recently are:

Some of these have been gathering dust on my hard drive for more than five years, waiting for me to get back to them. Unfortunately, when a new idea pops into my brain, I tend to jump into that story, forgetting the ones that still need completion. I didn't wait until January 1st to make a resolution to do better. All the above books/stories are enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, Amazon's subscription service that lets you read books enrolled in the program at no additional charge. Personally, I love it. It keeps my reading habit from breaking the bank.

Wolf's Claim Blurb

Life isn't easy for a new-made werewolf

When human-raised Nate mates with Janelle and becomes Alpha to the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack, he knows his life has changed forever.

He just doesn't know how much . . ..

Then the Were Council, Rulers of Were, decrees death to an entire werepanther clowder for crimes their dead Queen committed.

As a cop, Nate defended helpless people.

When the new Queen asks Nate for sanctuary, how can he turn her away?

But it isn't easy combining a pack of werewolves and a clowder of werepanthers when both sides fear the other.

Especially when Lycos, ancient King of Were appears . . ..

Wolf's Heart Blurb

Wolf shifters trusting vampires? Just not done. Or is it?

Wolf shifter Jonathan is on his way home from San Antonio when he finds a wrecked car with an unconscious woman behind the wheel.

Stacy, cold-blooded vampire that she is, quickly succumbs to the below-freezing temps after wrecking her car in an attempt to avoid hitting a doe.

She's never met a shifter before. Trusting him isn't a good idea.

The only vampire Jonathan ever met who didn't try to kill him was General Brighton. Trusting Stacy isn't smart.

Falling in love isn't smart, either.

Happy Holidays: Wolf's Destiny Available in Paperback

Peace and joy to you and your loved ones.

Wolf's Destiny

As promised, Wolf's Destiny has been reformatted into a paperback 7X10 format.

This size was required by the number of pages in the Wolf's Victory paperback edition (coming soon), since it has too many pages to print in a smaller edition.

To ensure the two looked right on the bookshelf, I decided to make both the same size.

As of today (12-13-2021), there's time to get this delivered before Christmas!

I'll do my best to finish reformatting Wolf's Victory in time for Christmas orders, too, but I can't promise.

Take care and stay safe,

Author Copies Arrived!

My Paperback Author Copies are Here!

The last 9 copies of my Texas Ranch Wolf Pack series arrived yesterday. Over the three years, I've been working on this series, I have neglected to get author copies in paperback. Instead, opting most of the time to purchase the ebook versions.

I finally purchased the books I was missing to complete the set.

Photo of Author CopiesThe difference in the background colors on the covers of Wolf's Queen and Wolf's Enemy is much more noticeable. <<Sigh.>>

Maybe someday, I'll have time to redo those covers to match better.

I would love to see your photos if you have purchased one of my paperbacks.

If you send them to me at author@lynnnodima.com,
I'll create a post for them here for all to enjoy.

Remember, this is a family-values blog, so please make them clean. I reserve the right not to publish photos that would conflict with family values as determined by me.

I could add a page to hold them all if I get enough.

Do you purchase paperbacks? Ebooks? Borrow?

Take care!

Wolf's Man: New Cover or Old Cover?

New on the Left: Old on the Right

Update:

After considering the results of my poll, I'm leaving this cover as is for now. If you commented here or on my FB page, thank you!

Does Wolf's Man need a new cover?

The one on the left is the new design. The one on the right is the old design.

Which do you prefer?

The cover to the first book in the series has bothered me for a while, so I created the new design.

Please comment below to let me know which you prefer.

Thank you!

Later,
P.S. It took a while, but Wolf's Duty was finally added to the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Series page on Amazon!

Pre-Order for Wolf's Victory

The Second Boxset in the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack

Wolf's Victory, the second boxset of the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Series containing the last six books in the twelve-book series, is up for pre-order!

The boxset will be available on February 15, but readers can pre-order it now! As with the rest of the series, Wolf's Victory is enrolled with Kindle Unlimited.

The paperback should publish about the same time. The format will be 7"X10" since there are too many pages to create it in a smaller book size. To make the collections look right on the bookshelf, I plan to redo the first boxset, Wolf's Destiny, to be the same size paperback.

Other News

Our Move

Our move to Oklahoma is complete. We still have some boxes to unpack, but we're getting there. Our arrival just beat ice and snow, which is quite a contrast from south Texas. Thankfully, we didn't have anywhere we had to go, so we could stay home and enjoy the cold weather from inside.

Wolf's Duty

It took a while to get it there, but Wolf's Duty is now listed on the series page on Amazon. Usually, this occurs automatically after a week or so. This time, I had to contact Amazon and ask them to add book 12 to the page. That doesn't happen often, but occasionally something gets glitched.

Coming Up!

I'm working on getting the paperback edition for Wolf's Victory done. At the same time, I'll be changing the current size of Wolf's Destiny to match. Both will be available in 7"X10" format. There won't be a large print edition of these two collections. In large print, both exceed the page number limits for POD (print on demand) publishing.

Wolf's Rage Available in Large Print Paperback

Wolf's Rage in Large Print

Wolf's Rage has been published in a large print paperback format.

I hope to have the entire series (books 1-12) in large print before the end of November. So far, the first nine are done.

Sometime early in 2020, I plan to publish the second book set (books 7-12). It will be in ebook and paperback.

The book sets will not be published in large print paperback.

The number of pages will exceed the number allowed for print-on-demand services unless the book is at least and 8.5" X 11" book.

In my opinion, that's just too big. If you disagree, please let me know.

WIP Report

We had a computer snafu at our house over the weekend, so as the resident computer tech, I didn't get to spend much time writing.

My word count is over 51,000 and climbing.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping nothing else happens to interfere. I really, really want Wolf's Duty published by the middle of November, or sooner if at all possible.

I guess that means I need to get to work writing. 😀

Happy Leif Eriksson's Day! 2019

Leif Eriksson's Day Give-A-Way

Last year, I forgot about Leif Eriksson's Day until it was long over. This year, though, I want to celebrate.

Wolf's Sorrow tells about the early life of a character introduced in Wolf's Huntsman, Snarl (a.k.a. Thorkell Leifsson, Leif Eriksson's second son). To celebrate, I intended for Wolf's Sorrow to be free for five days starting today.

I made a mistake. I thought I had set the book to free, but didn't. I goofed.

So, Wolf's Sorrow will be free from October 10 to October 14!

If you would be interested in reading more stories about Snarl and Freya's early life, let me know. :)

New Blog

I have started a new blog. This blog is primarily for readers who like clean paranormal urban fantasy and romances. The new blog, Lynn's Clean Romances, won't have any paranormal books. I plan to review clean romances there on occasion. Soon, I'll have a newsletter set up for it, so if you're interested in clean romances such as billionaire, small-town, young adult, western, or historical romances, check it out.

WIP Progress Report

This book has taken longer than I expected since I was ill for a while. I'm feeling much better, but now I have some things to catch up on. I'm writing at least 500 words a day on Wolf's Duty, and I hope to finish it next week. Fingers crossed!

WIP: Wolf's Quest and Cover Reveal

Cover Reveal for Wolf's Quest by Lynn Nodima

Wolf's Quest Cover Reveal and Sneak Peek

I'm back at work, writing Wolf's Quest. At this point, I have well over 7,000 words written. In this story, Snarl is headed to Colorado to the Tala Ridge Ranch by jet to see if the woman Dylan Pace kept in a cage for the past years is Freyja, his mate. And Dusty and Nettie, with the kids, Terrell, Mattie, and Lettie, are also headed to the Tala Ridge Ranch, where Nate (the Were King) has decreed Terrell will be placed as alpha and Dusty and Nettie will be alpha regents until Terrell grows into the position.

So, who is the kid Snarl finds at the airport? Will they be welcomed to the Tala Ridge Ranch? Is the woman in the cage Freyja, Snarl's mate? More to come soon!

Backstory:

In Wolf's Huntsman, book 4, readers learned that Jackson Rollins, the former alpha to the Arkansas pack, and the Council Alpha, captured Freyja and hid her away to keep Snarl from giving the Lycos' staff to someone else. The Lycos staff, a weapon used to focus the Lycos' power, cannot be given unwilling, so the evil Jackson was unable to force Snarl to give it to him.

Snarl has been searching for Freyja for fifteen years. In Wolf's Enemy, Nate walks through Terrell Pace's mind and finds a woman in a cage in Pace's basement in Terrell's memory. Based on Snarl's story, Nate thinks Freyja may be in Colorado. The king gives Snarl leave to go find out if it's Freyja.

At the end of Dusty, Nettie, Terrell, and Nettie's twin daughters, Lettie and Mattie, head for Colorado by car to give the kids time to get to know each other.

On the way to find Freyja, Snarl meets Josh, a young wolf, at the airport.

Sneak Peek Snip from Chapter 2

After a quick stop at the luggage carousel to gather Josh’s two suitcases, Snarl let the boy drag them by the wheels and walked ahead of him toward the car rental kiosk. Even with his cane, Snarl got several feet ahead of Josh.
Josh shouted, “Grampa!”
At the alarm in the boy’s voice Snarl spun on his heel. Two men had Josh by the arms, pulling him toward the door. A single sniff identified them as wolves. Moving faster than he should while under the glamour, Snarl rushed to them and cracked his cane over the closest man’s back. “Let my grandson go!”
Staggering, the man released Josh and whirled to face Snarl. Lips pulled back in threat, he took a step toward Snarl. “Stay out of this, old man!”
“You will not take my grandson from me! Let him go!”
Snarl shouted loud enough to get the attention of security. Armed men started rushing toward them. “Hey, you!”
At the shout, the man facing Snarl sent him a threatening growl, then grabbed the other man. “Let’s go! We’ll get him later!”
The two men ran with security chasing them. Another guard stopped beside Snarl. “Are you two okay? What happened here?”
Eyes shock wide, Josh sent a beseeching stare to Snarl. Snarl patted Josh's shoulder, then pulled him closer and leaned on the boy’s shoulder. “We’re okay. Thank you. Don’t know why, but those two tried to kidnap my grandson.”
The guard glanced at Josh. “You okay, kid?”
Without speaking, Josh nodded. Snarl patted his back. “It’s okay, Josh. They won’t bother you, again. Okay?”
“Yes, Sir.”
The tremble in Josh’s voice hit Snarl hard. It was all he could do to stay with Josh rather than search and destroy the two wolves who tried to take him. “You’ll be safe as long as you’re with me, Josh. I promise.”
“Sir, I need you to come to security to answer a few questions.” The guard motioned toward a door marked ‘Security.’
Snarl sighed. “We’re running late, Officer. How long will this take?”
“Not long. We just need to fill out a report.”
Arm still around Josh’s shoulder, Snarl leaned on the boy. “We’ll have to go slow, Officer. I broke my cane on that guy’s back.”
“Take your time, Sir.” The officer led them through the Security door and into a small room. Josh helped Snarl to a chair then sat beside him. Snarl nodded his thanks and turned his attention to the officer. After checking that his age glamour still functioned, he squinted at the man’s shirt, then said, “Officer Norris, we don’t either one know those men. There’s not much we can do to help you.”
Office Norris pulled a form from the drawer behind the desk. “We just need to file a report, Sir. Name?”
Snarl sighed. “Kell Leifsson.”
“And the boy?”
“Josh Leifsson.” Snarl squeezed Josh’s knee beneath the table when the boy’s mouth opened. Josh shot a glance at Snarl’s face, then nodded.
“Your grandson, you said?”
“Yes. Can we speed this up a bit?”
“I need to see your ID, Sir.”
The muscle in Snarl’s jaw twitched. He reached to the back of his jeans and pulled his wallet from his pocket. Pulling a business card from the wallet, he dropped it on the table and added the photo of a pretty woman that came with the wallet. “My driver’s license and a photo of my grandson at his sixth-grade graduation.”
Josh blinked and turned his startled face toward Snarl. Snarl gave him a slight head shake. The officer picked up the business card and the paper photo. He studied them both carefully, wrote some information on the form, then handed them both back to Snarl. “Thank you, Sir. You didn’t know those two men? Either of you?”
Both Snarl and Josh shook their heads. “I already told you that, Officer. We really are going to be late. We’d like to go, now.”
Officer Norris nodded amiably. “We’re almost done here, Sir. I need a number in case we need to follow up.” Snarl rattled a number off the top of his head. If they did follow up, someone would be surprised when airport security called their phone. Norris wrote the number down, then pushed the form toward Snarl. “If you’ll just sign on the line at the bottom, you’ll be free to go. We don’t want you to be late.”
Snarl scribbled an unreadable signature, then nodded. “We’ll be on our way, then.”
“Of course, Sir. Have a great day!”
“Thank you.” Clutching the center of his broken cane, Snarl leaned on Josh. “Let’s go, Son. Your grandma will be anxious if we’re much later.” As he stood, he swiped the heel of his hand across the table to obliterate their prints.
Josh nodded and supported Snarl out the door. Once it closed behind them, he glanced back, then looked at Snarl. “How . . .?”
“Not now. Let’s get a car and get out of here before those guys come back.”

That's all for now. I'm back to the keyboard to finish writing chapter 6.

Later,

Wolf's Rage Cover Reveal

Wolf's Rage Cover

Wolf's Rage: Book 7.5 in the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Series Cover Reveal

After Wolf's Enemy, I fully intended to write Wolf's Quest, which is Snarl's search for his kidnapped mate, Freya. However, my characters did not cooperate.

Flora Garrett and Dottie Paddock decided that their wedding was more important than a footnote. It was being planned at the end of Wolf's Queen. Wolf's Enemy opened the morning after the wedding. Flora and Dottie staged a sit-in on my keyboard.

Until I wrote their wedding story, they refused to leave me alone to work on Snarl's search for his missing mate.

So, Wolf's Rage, Book 7.5, came about. The happenings in this book occur in the two weeks between the end of book 7 (Wolf's Queen) and the beginning of book 8 (Wolf's Enemy). The women are happily in the act of preparing for the wedding, purchasing gowns, and planning decorations when they come across a woman (Violet) being forced into an SUV by two men. When they rescue her, the fun begins.

Now, not only is there a wedding to prepare for, there is Violet's family to save from a deranged kidnapper.

I have just over 25,000 words written, and write more every day, so the book should be done soon.

At least that's my hope. I really, really want to get back to Snarl's search. And he's a bit impatient, too.

Panther's Heart: A New Story in the Texas Wolf Pack World

UPDATE:

Panther's Heart was renamed Wolf's Queen. You can read about it here: Wolf's Queen

Panther's Heart: The Next Story in the Texas Wolf Pack World

Now that Wolf's Destiny, the box set of the first six books is published, I am working on three different books. I mentioned two of them, To Risk the Unicorn and Pirates, in a February 12 post.

I also mentioned working on more shifter stories in the Texas Wolf Pack World. At this point, I have over 10,000 words complete on Panther's Heart: Texas Wolf Pack Panther Clowder.

This is Flora and Will's story and begins just after the pack's return from the attack on the Oklahoma Huntsmen Headquarters in Book 6, Wolf's Reign.

Flora and Will must deal with his head injury. At the same time, Flora's widowed father, Ben, and Dottie will enter a new phase of their lives.

I hope my readers enjoy reading the stories as much as I love writing them.

This is a short excerpt from chapter 8:

Flora kept her arm tight around Will’s waist and took another step with him. After a restless night, he was even more fidgety. Even though the doctor said to walk once a day, he was pushing himself. Twice now, she found him trying to walk alone when she left the room for more than a few seconds. “Slow down,” she muttered. “You have plenty of time to get better.”
His stubborn eyes met her gaze. He shook his head and took another step. “I have work to do. Can’t stay in bed all day.”
“You are excused from work until you are well.”
“And if I don’t get well?”
Flora frowned at the blush that stained his cheeks. “Will . . ..”
Still stubborn, he ignored her and took another step. “I have to get better.”
She sighed and took a stronger hold on his waist. When they finally got to the door then back to his hospital bed, she was relieved. A relief that didn’t last. He turned and took another step back toward the door. “That’s enough, Will. You’re trembling.”
Pulling him to the bed, she gently pushed him to sit on the edge. Standing straight, right thumb tucked in her front jeans pocket, she studied him. He turned his face away from her, but not before she saw the anguish in his eyes. With a soft breath, she pulled her hand from her pocket and took his hand. “Will, what’s wrong? Let me help.”
“You can’t.”
Fingers curled under his chin, she pulled his face toward her. The moisture in his eyes surprised her. Dr. Travis said he may be emotional for a while. At Leesha’s reminder, Flora swallowed. “Will . . ..”
“Go away, Flora.” He swallowed and turned his head to face the opposite wall. “Just go away.”
Flora blinked. Go away? She huffed. “I’m your Queen, Will. You’re my tom. My beta. Don’t tell me to go away!”
His shoulders curled tight, and he leaned away from her. Flora put her hand on his shoulder. “Will.”
When she tugged on him, his shoulder twitched. “I’m nothing. I can’t shift without you or Nate helping. I can’t even walk by myself. I’m no good to you, now. Go away, Flora. Find another tom.”
Will’s words echoed in her mind. The pain in her chest, the one she thought would kill her when his heart stopped at the hospital, hit her. Shaking with agony, she fisted her right hand and pressed it against the pain. “I can’t do that.”
He looked at her. Anguish swam in his eyes. “You have to. I can’t protect you.”
She shook her head. The words she whispered seemed torn from her very soul. “I won’t. I can’t. You’re my mate. Mine! I won’t live without you.”
“Mate?” His shoulders grew even tighter, his back straighter.
Bowing her head, she felt hot liquid run down her cheeks. “I thought you died. I wanted to die with you.” She swallowed, sniffed, then took a deep breath. “Right now, it’s my turn to protect you. The clowder and pack will protect us both until you are well enough.” She sniffed. “Besides, I can take care of myself, you know.”
She felt him turn toward her, but she couldn’t look at him. How he could think she would want another? Never! Mate! The pain and anger in her panther’s thoughts matched her own.
“You’re crying.” His hand cupped her face. “Ah, Flora, don’t cry. I don’t deserve your tears.”
Wordlessly, she leaned against him. He nuzzled his face into her hair, sniffing. He caught his breath, then sniffed again. “Flora.” She pulled back and met his gaze. His eyes searched her face, and he swallowed. His eyes glowed with the power of his panther. Reverently, he lifted her hand, kissed her fingers, then lightly ran his tongue over her fingertips. He closed his eyes and swallowed.
“Will?”
His mouth worked as if he was trying to speak, but no words came out. He cleared his throat, swallowed, then tried again. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “You deserve so much more.”

“I don’t want more. I want you.”

Preview of Wolfs Reign

Preview of Wolf's Reign, Final Book of the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Series

I have mentioned before that this book was more difficult to write than all the others in the series combined.

It is with great relief that I announce that the first draft is complete. I still have several edits to go through, but the hardest part is done.

This book concludes the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Series, though I will write in this universe again.

I have several short stories planned to give you more information about some of the characters, and someday, somewhere, the were will want to have a school. I am thinking maybe a high school. You'll know soon after I do.

For several months, I've promised this book to you, so here it is.

The first chapter is all yours.

Chapter 1

Unable to sleep, Nate Rollins, Alpha of the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack, stared through the dark room at the ceiling. Janelle’s head was on his shoulder. She mumbled against his chest. He tightened his arm around his mate and his fingers clutched into a fist. Ophelia’s soft whimpers reached him through the open door connected to the nursery. Careful not to wake Janelle, Nate forced his fist to relax, slipped his arm from beneath her, then padded barefooted to the nursery.
“Shhh,” he whispered to Ophelia, his fingers stroking her tiny chest. “Don’t wake Mommy.” With expertise born of much practice, he quickly changed her wet diaper, then picked her up and carried her to the rocking chair he bought Janelle soon after they learned she was expecting. Giving Ophelia a bottle while he rocked slowly back and forth, Nate stared out the window at the moonlit yard. Somewhere in the woods, an owl hooted. Bats swirled through the air, their silhouettes stark against the bright moon. He sighed and looked at his daughter. Koreth’s pride in her matched his own, though lately, it was difficult to feel or hear anything from Koreth. Almost as if there was a padded wall between them.
The wolf is not needed.
Nate stopped rocking and sat forward. “What?” he hissed into the darkness.
The wolf is not needed. I am enough.
Lycos. It had to be Lycos. No one else could enter his mind so easily. Koreth is part of me. As much a part of me as you are.
The rumble of laughter in Nate’s mind set him on edge. I am more powerful than either of you. I am enough. I don’t need you.
Shoving Lycos out of his mind, Nate stood and walked to the bedroom. “Janelle, wake up.” He bumped the edge of the bed with his knee. “Wake up!”
“Wha . . . what?” Blinking, sleep in her eyes, Janelle sat up. Her blonde hair glimmered in the moonlight streaming through the open window. “Nate? What’s wrong?”
“Ophelia needs you.” He leaned over his mate and transferred his daughter and her bottle to Janelle. “I have to go.”
Janelle settled Ophelia in her arms, then looked up at Nate, concern on her shadowed face. “Go where?”
“Out. I have to go out.” He saw in her expression she needed him to stay. She wanted him to answer her questions. Neither of which he could do. At least not now. Without another word, Nate spun on his heel and left. Remembering at the last minute there were dozens of people sleeping in the house, Nate shut the front door with a soft click. He jumped off the porch and ran toward the cave where he and Janelle found the surviving pack members when Nate first learned he was were.
Going through the back way by vehicle would take almost an hour, but running straight through the trees Nate was there in twenty minutes. He slogged through the creek in his bare feet, ignoring the water soaking his flannel pajama bottoms and ducked into the low cave entrance. The cave was left provisioned just in case it was ever again needed as a hideaway. Sooner or later, someone would find him here, but for a short time, he would be alone with his thoughts. He turned on one of the battery-powered lamps left behind and sat on the cot.
Soon after he took on Alpha responsibilities for the ranch, he learned he could separate his human and wolf halves into two beings. Closing his eyes, he reached inside, searching for Koreth. Wolfish whines led him to the virtual dungeon Lycos built in his mind. Reaching a hand toward Koreth, he gritted his teeth, felt his jaw clench. Slowly, he forced his hand through the thick imprisoning air surrounding Koreth. Closing a mental hand on the nape of Koreth’s neck, he pulled steadily until Koreth passed through the viscous, invisible prison walls.
As soon as Koreth was free of Lycos’ prison, Nate commanded they be two. Koreth shimmered into existence in front of him. The wolf shuddered and crowded against Nate’s legs. Lycos trapped me!
Why would he do that?
Anger blazed in the wolf’s eyes. He is trying to take over. We must not allow him. Janelle, Nadrai, and Ophelia will be helpless against him.
Nate ruffled the fur behind Koreth’s ears. “We’ll find a way to stop him.” Avoiding thoughts of his doubts and fears, Nate stretched out on the cot. Koreth jumped up and snuggled beside him, nose resting on his paws. His hand resting on Koreth’s shoulder, Nate closed his eyes.
In the back of his mind, his massive wolfman form surged against the constraints Nate placed on him. Nate reinforced his hold on Lycos. “We have to find a way.” Even so, hours passed before he had enough control to dare sleep.

*****

Snarl stopped at the edge of the creek and sniffed. Alpha! With a slight nod, he sloshed through the creek, ignoring the water filling his boots. At the cave mouth, he hesitated, then shrugged and pushed his way in. If Nate didn’t want him in the cave, he would send him home. But something was wrong. Snarl could feel it in his bones. His wolf cowered, as if afraid. Something he had never done in all Snarl’s long life.
Inside, a dim battery lamp barely cast enough light to fill the interior. Snarl walked to the shelf and picked up another lamp with fresh batteries, then pressed the on/off switch to flood the cave with more light. He turned to find Nate sleeping on the cot, Koreth stretched out beside him. Koreth raised his head. After a moment, he tilted his head to the left and whined.
Snarl walked to the wolf. “It’s okay, Koreth. Let’s see what’s wrong with the Alpha.” Surprised his voice didn’t wake Nate, Snarl hesitated. It wasn’t a good idea to be too close to someone with combat experience when they waken suddenly. Signing, ready to jump back, Snarl pressed a hand to the Alpha’s shoulder. “Nate?” Snarl shook his shoulder. “Nate?”
Nate moaned, then opened one eye. “Snarl? What’s up?”
Snarl frowned. The Nate he knew would come up fighting if awakened suddenly. “That’s what I want to know. What’re you doing out here? You and Janelle have a fight?”
Nate shook his head, then gently nudged Koreth off the cot so he had room to sit up. Koreth jumped to the cave floor and sat, head tilted, tongue hanging out, and looked at Nate. “I’m okay, Koreth.” One hand reached out to scratch behind Koreth’s ear. “Something happen, Snarl?”
“Yeah. For some reason, the Alpha has gone missing. Know where he is?”
“Very funny. I’m right here.”
“Uh huh. But something is bothering you. What’s up?”
Snarl endured the steady stare Nate sent him. Nate’s bloodshot eyes were haunted. Sitting on a camp stool, Snarl leaned forward. “I’ve pledged loyalty to you, Alpha. Let me help.”
Nate sighed and nodded. Reaching back, he swiped his hand as if reaching for his hip pocket. Surprise filled his eyes and he looked down. “I’m still in my pajamas.”
“Uh huh.” Snarl scratched behind his right ear. “Not often you wander around without all your clothes. Want to tell me about it?”
“I couldn’t sleep.”
When Nate stopped, Snarl raised an eyebrow at the younger man. “And?”
Nate stood and started pacing barefoot around the cave, walking around the stone-enclosed fire circle. Snarl watched, quiet, waiting for Nate to decide to talk. Two times, then three, the Alpha walked around the circle. When his feet came to an abrupt halt, Snarl studied his face. Stress openly creased his forehead beneath the uncombed dark brown hair.
“Snarl, when we opened the safe and found the second medallion, there was a paper with it.” Nate bit his lip then shook his head. “It said, ‘Beware the medallion, lest it binds. Valor and strength prevail.’ It seemed silly, so I forgot it. When Jackson’s medallions melded to mine, and the Progenitors granted me life, I forgot the note . . . until . . ..”
“Until?”
Nate bowed his head, then lifted it only enough for Snarl to see the angst in his eyes. “Lycos is trying to take over. Control both me and Koreth.” He slipped his thumbs into the waistband of his pajamas. “I think that’s what the note was about, but I don’t wear one medallion, Snarl. I wear four.” He raised his head more, his anguished gaze settling on Snarl’s eyes. “I think I’m losing this fight.”
Snarl motioned toward the bunk Nate slept on. “Sit down, Alpha. We need to talk.”

That concludes the chapter preview.  Thank you for reading the first chapter of Wolf's Reign!

Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Book Series Cover Changes

Series Book Cover Changes

After consulting with other authors and some book cover designers, I decided to change the covers of the Texas Ranch Wolf Pack Series books.

Thanks to Members of the Guerrilla Publishing: Book Marketing Support and Feedback for Authors

I want to thank all the writers and book cover designers in the Guerrilla Publishing: Book Marketing Support and Feedback for Authors Facebook group, with special thanks going to Derek Murphy. Derek is the administrator of the Facebook group, the author of Guerilla Publishing: Dangerously Effective Writing and Book Marketing Strategies, and is a book cover designer, too. If you want to learn more about Derek and the helps he offers other writers, you can check out his blog. The help I receive from Derek and his group is fantastic. If you are a struggling author, the Facebook group is well worth looking into.

I hope to have book 6 in the series, Wolf's Reign, finished by the 10th of December. While this title is what I have planned from the beginning, I am now thinking of changing the title. I'll let you know if that happens.

Please note that the links in the previous blog post still work, even if the image is the old image.
